New Junior Handling Trophy
The Club is pleased to announce the launch
of the Jenny Martin Memorial Trophy. This trophy is to be presented at
the Club’s AGM to the top winning Junior Handler each year from points
gained at Junior handling classes at our two open shows and one
championship show, starting at our championship show in October this
year.
Points will be awarded as follows: 5 points for a 1st place, 4 points
for a 2nd place, 3 points for a 3rd place, 2 points for a 4th place and
1 point for a 5th place. 1 extra point will be awarded to the best
Junior Handler on the day.
Junior handlers do not need to be registered with the JHA at the Kennel
Club to take part, but all dogs handled must be entered and exhibited at
the show.

The Kennel Club has approved the changes to
our Rules for Branches which were approved by members at our
AGM on 17 June 2018. The amended document can be found

Change of name for the Contingency Fund - 26
June 2016
With immediate effect the ESSC Contingency Fund
will be known as ESSC Welfare & Rescue. A full Constitution has been
agreed and is available here.

General Code of Ethics -
26 June 2016
With immediate effect the Club has amended
its Code of Ethics.
This change has been approved by the Kennel Club. The revised Code of
Ethics can be found here
Subscriptions
With effect from 1 January 2016,
membership subscriptions have been increased. single membership is £10.00, Joint membership is £12.50 (£14.00 for three
members living at the same address).
If you are a single member over the age of sixty you will pay the senior
rate of £8.50 but two senior members living at the same address still
pay joint membership of £12.50.
Training of Judges Scheme
The Club has recently revised its criteria
for its judging lists and the flow chart for proceeding through the
Training of Judges Scheme. Click here for full details.
Summer Open Show & Centenary Celebrations
On 7 June 2014 we turned back the clock to
June 1914 and members participated in dressing-up for the spirit of the
occasion.
The day started with our Summer Open Show with special prize cards for
winners. Best in Show was awarded a special prize.
During the afternoon there were:
Stalls hosted by Branches & the Working Section with stallholders will
be dressed in appropriate 1914 costumes
Display of Dancing with Dogs (Shelties of course)
Parade of Champions
Special Raffle & Centenary Raffle (£100 prize)
Judging of stalls and best dressed member by our guest of honour,
Ferelith Summerfield. The prize for best stall went to the East Midlands
Branch, with the Midlands Branch, the runner-up. The prize for the best
dressed member went to Cheryl Lockett, with Mr Westermann, the runner-up.
The Working Section arranged Good
Citizen tests and “Come and Try it” Agility during the day.
At the conclusion of the event, Ferelith cut the Centenary cake and we
had a toast to the Club
Our Centenary Celebrations have been supported and sponsored by a large
